Why is it important to support Liberian refugees in Ghana?

1. Are you concerned about the continued marginalization of war-wary liberian women? You can contribute to their empowerment by supporting:

  • skills training
  • mirco-credit scheme
  • sexual reproductive health education
  • functional literacy
  • awareness-creation and sensitization programs

2. Do you wish to influence attitudinal change among refugees amidst the hiv/aids pandemic? You could help by supporting:

  • capacity-building workshops for community leaders, teachers, women’s organizations, youth groups, etc.
  • care for people living with hiv/aids
  • reproductive health sensitization initiatives
  • student anti-aids clubs
  • community aids mobilization campaigns

3. You can help a refugee child learn to read and write and acquire a vocation or professional skills through support in the following areas:

  • acquisition of elementary education
  • increase in the number of girls wishing to go to school but lacking support
  • increase in artisanship skills ahead of liberia’s reconstruction
